Default Opinions on C30

I went to view this C30 today and would be interested to hear any thoughts of people on here who may know them better.

https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sal...iesel/16458574

Positives: It is priced quite keenly, this is the cheapest 2.0d I have seen and I have seen much worse ones at higher prices. It has just passed the Irish NCT (MOT) and is tested now for one year. It has decent spec including heated seats, bodykit, leather, etc. Although there is not much documented history with it I know from speaking to a previous owner that the timing belt was changed less than two years ago and there is no DPF to worry about.

Negatives: There are quite a few bumps and scrapes, although there is nothing substantial it was obviously owned by someone who could not park. The interior is a bit musty and the ventilation system does not seem to be blowing fully even when on full power. I'm not sure if this problem could be caused by a filter or something more serious? Personally I hate driving a car with a stuffy interior. Oh, the glove box is jammed shut, the lock can not be opened with the small key in the fob.

Personally, at the moment I can not afford a newer C30 in better condition but I'm not sure if I should just buy this and fix its faults over time or just wait another few years until I can get a really good one.

Sorry I just realised that I should have put this in the 'general' sub-forum rather than the 'for sale' one.

7 owners doesn't sound good!! Those faults could all be expensive to sort but if you don't mind all that and are willing to take a gamble it's as good as any other 10 year old car.

Yeah what happened there was that the previous owner changed ownership between himself and his wife a few times to avoid paying back tax. It prob had more like 4 owners. The heater would annoy me the most of all the issues...

The heater could get expensive but the pollen filter is a swine to replace on these cars so there's a chance it's caked solid and not filtering anything.

Also has xenon lights which is a nice touch

It seems to be blowing but theres hardly anything coming through the vents so you could be right. How dp you know it has xenons?

It's got no level adjustment wheel on the light switch, xenons are auto levelling.

If the motor blows harder every time the climate is turned up but there doesn't seem to be increased airflow, it can't be too difficult I guess. I wasn't sure if you meant the bars turned up on the info panel but the fan didn't blow any harder which would probabaly be a pricey fix!

Now that you mention it the bars did go up on the info panel and there didnt seem to be any difference in the power of the fan, so could be a worse problem.

Having read what's been posted and looked at the website......

Seems a bit of a Rough looking car with the dents etc and with the blower issue.....

Id steer clear of it. If it looks rough on the outside, I'd say it has had corners cut on the maintaining of it too. Just asking for trouble in my opinion. Fixing all the issues could cost you a grand, buy one for a grand more that has no issues.
