Default Clutch slow disengage

Had my clutch/flywheel and slave cylinder changed around 4 months ago but today when driving i noticed that the clutch takes a second to disengage after its pressed to the floor. e.g. if i go to put the car in 1st gear straight after pressing the clutch down it wont go in but if i press the clutch down and wait a few seconds it will go in 1st gear. all gear shifts work with the engine off aswell. any ideas? thanks

sounds like clutch drag , did they clean the clutch splines and use the volvo grease on them ? Non volvo clutch too i guess ?

Hi, no idea the garage picked my car up replaced all the parts and dropped it off so I'm not sure what they did and didn't do. All parts are genuine volvo parts bought from volvo.

That is good news , Is it hard to get into reverse too? I would take it back and tell them you suspect Clutch drag .

if I'm in neutral and push clutch down I can try any gear and it feels blocked unless I wait a couple of seconds with the clutch down. Reverse is the same as all the others it will go in but have to wait a couple of seconds otherwise it feels blocked. I've only drove a few miles since it started but once in gear the changes from 1st to 2nd etc felt OK. Thanks

Is there any floppy play at the top of the pedal travel? It should start to feel heavy at the first movement . Any air in the system gives about an inch of floppy free movement when you press the pedal

I'll check the pedal out tomorrow to see how it feels, I didn't pay to much attention to the pedal. Are you thinking that the clutch may need Bleeding? I did wonder whether air in the clutch was the problem myself. Thanks

Yes , if you have about an inch of floppy play before the pedal does anything air is in the system .

Hi clan, I realised the problem was just 1st and reverse like you said. If I try to go straight into them gears with the clutch down it's blocked if I wait a couple of seconds it will go in. I changed gearbox oil which made no difference and the clutch pedal doesn't feel floppy. It will go into them gears easier also after driving the car for 20+ minutes. Took it to the garage they said bad synchros in gearbox. What's your opinion?
