Default SRS Airbag Service Urgent

Just had this flash up on the DIM with yellow warning triangle.

The red airbag light is there on key turn but extinguished, leaving the above.

Anyone able to confirm whether or not airbags are still armed? Hoping Simon Jones reads this, been trying to get in touch via PM but not enough posts so far.

I have the same message so would be interesting to find this out. The other airbag light you mentioned isn't lit though

You've probably caused yours when replacing your head unit.
A decent code reader is required regardless but preferably Dice and Vida.

Hi, I'll drop you a PM with my contact details. I'm happy to read and reset your codes. It'll be interesting to see what codes exist on a car with over 625,000 miles on the clock

It's been there since I bought the car. Along with 'engine system service required'

Ok, so you still need diagnostics however long you've had it.

Might get tricky at MOT time if you've got any warning lights or messages displayed.

I had that warning on mine a couple of years ago - I believe the airbag system will still work, but for obvious reasons didn't find out!

In my case the fault was the switch in the drivers side seatbelt stalk, but you will need a code read to determine your fault.
