Default Tinted windows. Show me yours....

Hi all.
I'm thinking of getting my windows tinted.
Trying to decide how dark to go. Don't want to go too dark, but it needs to be enough.
I understand that the classification is on how much light is passed. We've looked at "standard 20", which, I think, means it reduces visibilty in to 20%.

What do other people have? What was the factory tint (number on glass). Ideally, with photos so I can judge.

Thanks in advance.

Morning...... I didn't go with tinting in the end.....

I have a 5yr old, and he likes to have the window open on a journey... When the window is open, the flies come in.... and you lose the benefit of the tint, letting the sun in.......

So I went with these....

http://www.carshades.co.uk/shades-vo...03-p-2629.html

They are a great fit, let air pass thru, keep the sun out, less than 50% of the price of tinting... and when I'm done, i can move them to another XC90, or sell them.....

I've got 3/4 of a set of these but Mrs wants tints, but not too dark.
My youngest is 16 now, so even opening an electric window is too much effort!

On the rears I think you can go as dark as you want (think van - with no windows at all)

It's the windscreen and driver/passenger windows that have to be "legal"

Cheers

Dave

Natural tinting

Under the white powder are tinted drug-dealer windows, as supplied from the factory...

...oops I guess the white powder is supposed to be behind the drug-dealer windows so you cannot see it!

That's just showing off Swiss!
Last time we got snow like that was my daughter's first year of high school: She's just started her second year of university this week!

Thanks Dave.
I don't want to go Drug Dealer black, just dark enough to be dark, but not too dark.
The guy I'm taking it to had samples, but they were too small to get a really good idea. I think, also, different companies use different scales. My boss has W40 on his glass (Merc), but that is much darker than the STD 20 I was looking at, although the 20 is supposed to refer to it only passing 20% light.....I'm confused.

Previous owners had my xc90 windows tinted by a rookie who left bubbles in it so they ended up not paying for it. I'm only keeping it for 2yrs whilst new model becomes more affordable

Tinted rear windows are great for when you're on motorways and suns too bright it burns the kids skin or shines in they're face. They're not too dark that its difficult to park at night

Thanks! Do you know what level (%) of tint they are.
I've bit the bullet and booked it in for "Standard 20" which, they tell me, is close to factory tint.
