Default New Volvo

I have taken the plunge and part exchanged for, don't worry, YES another Volvo.

Went for a 2016 V40 D2 Auto R Design Pro.

I have only had it for a week and my god what a beauty.

Full of toys and sits on 18" alloys, which make it handle like a go kart.

I may be leaving the V50 page but joining the new V40, so still here.

Reasons for the change is I liked the £20 road tax and +50mpg where as the D5 was £230 road tax and 30 mpg.

Can i say a massive thank you for the support of last 5 1/2 years I have owned my V50 D5, I shed a few tears when it went.

Don't worry I will still have an interest on this page as my son has a C30 1.6D R Design.

cheers Lads much appreciated !!!!!!

Congrats sounds lovely get some pics up. I really miss my V40 should probably never had sold it - also loved all the toys. Question though are you not going to miss the D5 power?

I couldn't justify the big engine and poor mpg, I will miss the D5 from a power point of view, but I have had a D5 for the last 7 years so know what I'm missing.

I'm no boy racer, and what I will miss in the D5 the V40 D2 will make up for it, as it is full to the brim of toys, has 225/40/18 alloys and handles like a go kart, and power isn't that bad.

It does have a sports mode on the auto gear box, and I tell you, when selected the car set up totally changes, you get engine braking, bigger power band and more responsive acceleration, its like it having 2 cars at the flick of a switch.

Sports car feel on a budget, but without the big costs.

£20 road tax 50 mpg for the V40 as apposed to £230 road tax and 28 mpg for the D5.

Id of kept the D5 longer but I thought it was starting to show its age, and I had a redundancy payment, so thought I would treat myself.
