Engine/box and driveline combinations vary, but AWD XC60 and 90 wise should all be in the north of 2 ton category, should, but there are some strange anomalies in the range that are hard to fathom. With such a large van I would go straight for a Disco myself as you’ll need a car weighing about 2 and a quarter ton to begin with and the XC60 isn’t quite that heavy. If you don’t want a car as big as a Disco, look for a Range Rover Sport, lots of them about, same weight as the Disco and same platform (pre 13 plate ofc) and they aren’t as big and intimidating

Perhaps you should review your original comment; the way you approached the subject was a little rude in itself.
We are on a forum where I can compare the 'facts' with people's personal reviews on the vehicles themselves.

And I am not quite sure what you are referring to when you mention about breaking the law?

Not exceeding Gross Train Weight would be an issue.

Question, what 'van weighs 2 tons (?). I thought my 'van was heavy (Swift Corniche 17/3), I didn't want the stigma of a twin axle as I was towing with a Caravelle T5 172 bhp/400nms.

Jon.

I have no idea, it was just a discussion I had the previous night.

What I'm thinking is that they want one that weighs 1800kg, but with plenty of punch therefore being able to pull 2 ton.

As previously said, the 'van weighs over 2 tons, then gets filled up with all the stuff for a holiday, weighs even more. Only the big 4x4s can pull this sort of weight safely and legally. Disco, Landcruiser, builders tonka toy, etc
Where does one find such a big caravan ?

Good news!
They have found a caravan, and it's much lighter than their original suggestion.

So, 1.4t caravan and the car has to be petrol 🤔.
I've suggested the T6
