Hi all, my mother in law's 2.0jtd fiat scudo has a drip on the clutch slave cylinder connector not the slave itself but the slave pipe to master cylinder connector black plastic fitting with a steel clip holding the two pipes together , Fiat say you have to buy the pipe with the connector on it, the part look's like a fiver's worth but the pipe is £90 odd pounds that can't be right, thank's for your time, cam.

Yes, it could well be.

Several years ago I had a power steering issue on 'er indoors Fiesta. The pump was leaking so I changed the pump. One of the connectors on the high pressure hoses snapped, so went off to Ford and bought a new connector - about £10 or so. Got home and tried to fit it and it seemed impossible. Went back to Ford with the pipe and new connector to see what was wrong. Turned out the connector is put on the pipe with a special tool, upshot was I needed a new pipe complete - £180. I fell out with Ford after that.

Update for anyone interested the pipe genuine came from Griffin mill and was £42.23 without vat and £20.50 to have it fitted without vat all in the work with vat came to £75.28, well worth the £80.00 quid i paid , but all down to a rubber seal that only come' with the pipe and look's like a quid's worth, cam.

I hear many stories of special pipework costing loads, if it has custom fittings you are generally stuffed!
