add a 4 wheel alignment to your list to make sure your new tires last as long as possible.

well, the what did I do today thread....firstly, I'm new here, ex Brit living in British Columbia...2004 XC70 and 1998 V70 - recently acquired projects to work on with our 16 year old...and so far going ok re getting some quality time together.
....but today....I was on my own and trying to troubleshoot fuel on the XC70 Somthing odd going on...runs out of fuel (tested at rail) when gauge says about half full...has plastic saddle type tank....good fuel pressure when I add fuel to tank...then car seems to only use fuel from R side of tank....I think I know this because trying to move the cover from the left tank to get at the sender etc on this side results in fuel coming up at me as I loosen the locking ring...so that side must be quite full I guess. On the right side I can get the fuel pump half lifted out but not all the way because the tube/wires that go across to the left hand side of the tank...which I can access for the reason given above - arrrghhh So now sitting wondering how to get some of the fuel out of the left hand side of the tank so that I can open that side.... ....that was a chunk of my day....any thoughts on solving this riddle please? Cheers all....good to be here. I haven't waved spanners (wrenches) around for quite a few years....used to be all old Minis...but I gave it up 30 years ago or so...but it feels goos got be back at it! |

thanks for the welcome...now that is the perfect combo V70 + Mini....I just need to work on finding the right Mini now. Used to have a van....1380, HIF44 K&N, lightened flywheel 4 pot calipers....why I ever gave it up I do not know!

Nice, mines just a little 998 but I got a pair of hs2's and a head with bigger exhaust valves I'm gonna get it skimmed and ported, cam it, just for a little bit extra.. nothing dramatic
Know someone who has a van and put c20xe in it on twin webers lol that thing is insane. Last I heard was thinking of turboing it :-O |

Replace the rear number plate bulb holders as the old ones had broken / melted. Think the previous own had put LEDs in that got way too hot.
What I assumed would be a 5 minute job took a little longer and was made a little tricky by a rear wipe that would not come off it's arm. However undoing the bolts holding the motor allowed me to wiggle it out the way and remove the tailgate handle for access. Part number of the harness is 9483494 for anyone else doing it. |

1. Stripped and cleaned both front brakes to hopefully solve the front offside having started binding lately.
2. Bumper off again, forced the crumbling offside side marker bulb holder out, crimped in a new one, finally have that bulb working again. 3. Fitted new headlamp washer covers during bumper reassembly; reactivated headlamp washing by replacing fuse, having previously disabled it due to the old covers not being clipped in securely. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...91#post2835891

Took the S60 for its MOT. Passed without issue once again.
