I washed it for the first time since the new wheels went on.

It pleases me.

Done some maintenance at 510874km.
All filters, new oil, brake and clutch-system fluids and fitted new front brakes, disc and pads. Installed some adjustable parts to adjust the handbrake left and right, and some new brake pads for the rear.

That's a lot of km's. Do the handbrake adjusters work as advertised?

Yesterday I organized my pre and post op meds for my hip replacement this Tuesday.
Not exactly a Volvo maintenance tale...but I am buying good parts. I'll be chauffeured from the hospital in a vehicle taller than my V70.

Is it that car the pope drives about in?

The adjusters work well for me, there's always that thing about them technically not being necessary etc so let's get that out the way, but I found one tightening up slightly stronger than the other so in that respect it was nice to balance them up individually

With a bit of common sense and some back and forth between front and rear adjustment you can get a perfect set up and leave plenty of thread up front for the easy adjustment over the years rather than being on your knees and having the back wheels off at all

Handbrake adjusters work perfectly.
Much better grip when applying the handbrake.

Jacked the car and placed axle stands ready to change front struts. Unfortunately even with a breaker bar penetrating fluid lots of expletives I couldn't budge the bolts. So put the wheels back on etc tidied up. Just didnt have it in the locker.Had a brew then bought a impact wrench which should arrive in the week. Just got to get some impact sockets then have another bash. Should of bought a wrench ages ago

Ditto Camturbo, I bought a Clarke 240v impact gun a few years ago, it weighs a fair bit but it's never been beaten. It ended up up destroying the two nuts on the bottom of the struts even though it was a new 18mm impact socket.

What's involved in the headlamp upgrade ? Is it new lenses too ?
What's the cost ?

Cheers

I disassemble the complete headlight. Install a new rechromed reflector behind the glass eye, AND put new clear lenses on the headlights..
Mostly people trade in their old headlights. I give a little bit of money, because the headlights are in a bad state, shady lenses and burnt reflectors.
The Uk isn’t the best market for me, because of the shipping costs and extra for custums because not being part of the eu anymore…
And you have lhd headlights and we are rhd….
