You can get 20 litres on ebay for £40 delivered from germany. Lots of us have bought from the same guy. Look up over auto gearbox threads it will be on them

Hello, You said, "I'm going to start my regime of dropping 2L of ATF and top up with new." Where'd you get that 2L number?
When you unscrew the drain plug you'll see appx. 3.5L drain out.
If you do it yourself and raise the vehicle's left side higher than the right you'll get closer to 4L.

After warming up the car take an accurate measurement with the dipstick to see where your level is.
Calibrate old milk jugs so you can measure the amount drained.

This isn't rocket science. Just measure carefully. Have a drain plug gasket at the ready. Kira

Yup.
Been doing it with my last two cars ( so about 10 years now ) ;-)

I haven't tried on this car, but previously I would syphon 2L out of the dipstick tube, then reverse the syphon and put 2L back in the same way.
I did this at each oil change as I tow a caravan. It might not replace all of the fluid in one go, but does help to keep it in reasonable condition. (IMHO)

That's nice but pulling the plug will let nearly double the amount flow out at speed with more solids leaving your transmission.
Plus it's a faster chore!
Cheers, G.
