Default Genuine Mud Flaps

Tired of having clean XC70 and then first outing getting dirty. Friends got an XC70 too with genuine Mud flaps fitted, seen some for £100 for full set.

Are they easy to fit?
Do they fit well?
Are they worth it?

Many thanks for your opinions

I fitted a set to our V70, and I'm sure that the XC70 set is a similar fitting.

It's easy - you may have to take wheels off, then simply clean the area, fit the paint protection stickers (may not apply for the plastic arches on the XC), then screw the mudflaps into place, and then fit the supplied rivets in a couple of locations.

If, like me, you don't want necessarily to permanently rivet them into place, you can use plastic trim rivets instead.

My V70 D5 came with a full set fitted - they do a good job of protecting the lower paintwork. I wouldn't say they keep the car any cleaner but they definitely protect the lower sides of the car. I'm not sure I'd pay 100 quid for some though.

I just fitted four to my xc70.
They do a sterling job of keeping crap off the side of the car.
Fitting is pretty easy, drill out three rivets and refit three supplied with a heavy duty rivet gun. Wheels off of course.
http://www.volvopartshop.com Do them £40 a pair.
Recommend if you drive through crap regularly like wot I do in our ****ty lane!

I just fitted Volvo flaps front & rear to my 2010 XC70 and i didn't need to take any wheels off or drill anything.
I used a small Torx allen key which just fitted between tyre & inner arch.
I ordered them from my local dealer and they were a bit cheaper than i found on ebay at £45 / pair.
They fitted very well, it took around 10 mins per corner (apart from cleaning the wheel arches).
My only negative comments are that some of the screws just fix the mudflap to the not very well supported inner wheel arch and they are a bit thin & rubbery. But i suppose this is so they deflect when you're off road.
And yes, they do a great job of keeping the sides clean.

That's it, I'm gunna pay someone to hack into your PC and delete that picture for ever!!! Makes me so damn jealous, I want my car to have the roof spoiler and the twin exit exhaust and the keyless entry and the BLIS and the parking sensors and the chrome window trim and those wheels! And yeah, mudflaps should really go on my list too, don't want those big all terrain tyres kicking up stones onto my nice shiny caravan once I use the XC to tow the thing and stop stealing my old mans shockingly reliable Discovery 3

All these other Seashell XC's popping up and they're all higher spec then mine! Way to make a girl feel poor
