Ex plod standard or not??
Can someone please shed some light on whether the police modified the s70 (1999/2000) in any way other than the anti vandal windscreen mine has?? I believe mine has bigger front brakes on than an older t5 i recently seen (1997 car) i think mine are 302mm?
My local volvo main dealer told me today that it was my own fault i was having problems with the car because it was ex police and they are only sold on because they are at the end of thier life and not worth bothering with!!!! Its only got 137k on the clock Oh and all this is just because im tired of people like the bloke i bought the car off saying oh its chipped and it has bigger brakes and they put more reliable cats on the exhausts and they used t5r turbos also for reliability????? the bloke at volvo is adament that they are totally bog standard cheers everyone mick |

If you know which force owned it they should bebale to provide you details of all the work done on it, and may even be able to confirm the original spec. AFAIK police cars are not usually chipped. Brakes are 302mm anyway on the V70s. I believe most forces use genuine replacement parts. I also believe (from what I've read here) that the most they usually have done to them is stiffer suspension.

I run an Ex-plod 855 T5 and apart from the 302mm disks up front, and "they receive an upgraded chassis - stiffer shock absorbers, thicker anti-roll bars, solid bushing for example. We also as you correctly point out upgrade the brakes offering the largest possible and add a wiring loom to facilitate the fitting of Blue Light equipment."
