Default Ventilator problem

When I turn the dial to adjust the direction of the air flow nothing happens.
The air flow doesn't change to the direction selected.

Any ideas as to the cause?

If you mean the centre dial on the console the plastic spline on the rear of the dail could be split,The metal D pole this attaches to is tiny and i suppose if someone has turned the dial past it's limit it would easily break the plastic.Gently stick a small electrical type screwdriver between the dial and the fascia and slowly prise it out.If dial looks ok,make sure flat point on the dial lines up with flat point on pole and replace firmly.
