Err no - don't mean to be funny, but I'd never use cheap(er) oil - it can be a false economy. I've only ever used Mobil 1 in turbo engined cars and Castrol Magnatec in non-turbo cars.

Default Look for the rating on the bottle?

-there will be two letters of which the first will be 'S' - the other - well the lowest you want to use is 'SG' and then only for top-ups- try go for 'SJ' on a full oil change, especially petrol engines

Think Comma Eurolite is a 'Motosave' own brand - I don't believe in paying extra for brandnames so the best thing would be to pick up a can of the cheap stuff & compare it next to the dearer makes (ie CASTROL MAGNATEC, SHELL HELIX etc) look at the lable and see if the spec. is any different? also synthetic (or semi-synthetic) supposed to be better?

Just check spec panels & don't skimp but don't get ripped off either!

a. For older RWD models an alternative recommendation of EDGE 0W-30 / GTX MAGNATEC 10W-40 engine oil was made at the request of Volvo UK who do not wish TQF to be used in these applications, contrary to recommendations in vehicle handbooks
t. Alternative recommendations, Gear oils: 80W-90

From Castrol website. I personnally would use a 10/40.
