Err no - don't mean to be funny, but I'd never use cheap(er) oil - it can be a false economy. I've only ever used Mobil 1 in turbo engined cars and Castrol Magnatec in non-turbo cars.

Look for the rating on the bottle?
-there will be two letters of which the first will be 'S' - the other - well the lowest you want to use is 'SG' and then only for top-ups- try go for 'SJ' on a full oil change, especially petrol engines
Think Comma Eurolite is a 'Motosave' own brand - I don't believe in paying extra for brandnames so the best thing would be to pick up a can of the cheap stuff & compare it next to the dearer makes (ie CASTROL MAGNATEC, SHELL HELIX etc) look at the lable and see if the spec. is any different? also synthetic (or semi-synthetic) supposed to be better? Just check spec panels & don't skimp but don't get ripped off either! |
