960 indicator problem
The car locks / unlocks on the key fob and the offside indicators flas (as does the seat tell tale), but the nearside indicators and repeaters are permanently on. (The bonnet is closed properly)
Any thoughts - could it be a relay? |

Without a very full condition report on what is happening or appears to happen it is relally difficult to sort out this sort of problem. Do the Indicators work normally with car running? When the Indicators are on where does the voltage come from to keep them on? I would tend to suspect the Hazard switch having a loose connection or a wire missing. It is also possible that the indicator switch is left on the nearside when switching off the car. This would tell me that the car is fitted with continental parking lights. The indicator lights on the side to which the indicator switch is turned when ignition is turned off will illuminate to comply with Continental lighting regulations. What year is your 960? I will check in the wiring diagrams and get back to you if you let me know.
All the best, Peter. |

It's dads car so I'll fill in some of what he missed out.
It's a 1993 UK car. 90% of the time the indicators work normally with car running, but every so often the N/S indicators will stay on all the time, it doesn't matter if the car is running or stopped engine off and key out. In normal use the O/S indicators work as they should, but if you turn on the hazard's, all that will happen is they light up like the N/S ones (no flashing).

Possibly the Hazard switch has become faulty or it's plug has become loose and intermittent.
