looking for volvo rims?

Question mark is up there , due to not being 100% sure these rims i speak of were volvo? lets say it was around 2001 or close to that era. My neighbor had a new t5. Thats all i know , it was a T5 , anyway he had some chrome rims (maybe polished?) anyway im pretty sure they had the volvo logo in the middle of the rim. so i have been looking around for this rim , checked around youtube and ebay , and i see no type of rim. so my question is did volvo make a chrome rim for a certain t5 model? im interested in possibly purchasing a set of these. however cant find them anywhere. I guess i dont even know how to find them , as i dont know what they were called or even if volvo in fact did make these stock for a t5 model. all i can say neighbors t5 was maybe a 2000 or 2001 model of a t5. If you know what im talking about , a pic of said rim would be pretty cool to post. ty

Almatheas were on them and thors, but Volvo badges can be put in the centre of most rims

^ yes you my friend were correct on the rims. I looked around and they are not very cheap. my neighbor had a black volvo with a set of these rims. were they a option? anyway he kept his car clean , i fell in love with this car. When i was high school , my first motorcycle was a ninja 600 and this volvo we speak of raced me and won by a lot. that t5 is a quick car. I think this race i speak of was from a 55mph roll on? He saw me on the interstate and made the motion to race. The outcome was shocking. Just made me like his car more.

How many spokes did they have? Can you sketch a rough copy of them?

sketch? nah , i have a hard enough time drawing stick people. im pretty sure they were 5 spoke , just not positive on it?

Have a look for Pegasus alloys there 5 spoke and have a nice R in the spokes

Hello Zerocool,

I am not sure if the years your talking about were chrome rims, but i own a volvo c30 SE 1.8 on a 57 plate. My volvo has 17 inch 5 spoke chrome wheels which look amazing when clean but keeping them in a clean condition is hard work, also as i have only owned this car for just over 6 months and the previous owner used an abrasive cleaner or pad and lightly scratched them so up close they look very slightly hazy which is a shame.

Also be warned! the real chrome plated volvo rims are very delicate as after only 5 years since manufacture the finish as coming off due to our wet/ salty roads during the winter months, and they are corroding in the valve holes which means they purge air and go flat if not regularly checked.

At the moment i am looking for a company that can refurbish them but unfortunately no one does it in the UK due to the complicated process, the only company which will do a full refurbishment on a chrome rim is an American company called "CAL CHROME" which have failed to contact me. So i am considering selling these wheels for some R design 6 spoke rims instead.

well boss these rims you spesk of , i do not have. however if you find a set and you would like to get rid of the ones you have let me know. but during this time i will be shopping around for a set of 18" volvo pegasus wheels. If i can find a set that does not cost a arm and a leg (would also like tires on em too) I know thats asking a bit much. however i will keep my eye open for a set of R design 6 spoke rims. now i did recently see a set of these on ebay with some curb rash on them going for a buy it now price for $200.00
