Default Led rear lights and fog Led DRL upgrade question

Hi, I know someone who is going to sell there car to a breaker yard as he has had a engine failure on his 2011 XC90. I've got the opportunity to swap my rear lights and fog lamps off my 2009 to the Phase 3 Led versions from he's. I know the rears need a resistor but has anyone changed the front fogs to the Led daylight running lights? What's involved

Also I have a small time window to do this. So if I swap the rear will they work as normal until I get the resistors? Are the resistors just there to stop a fault reading on the dash?

The rear lights are relatively easy and there are few people on here who have done it.

However the DRL/fog light swap is a different story, you will need to disable the normal DRL's and make you own wiring for the fog light DRL's as the CEM on your year of car will most likely not have the functionality to drive them.

Remember they need to switch to low power or extinguish when headlights are turned on - if you have automatic headlamps they need to link to that.

Ah that's probably why not many have done it. Do you know if the rear lights would function properly until I get the resistors?

I *think* they will but you will likely get bulb failure errors on the dashboard for the rear lights and brake lights.

If you search the forum, others have done it and you might get a confirmed answer...

Default rear lights

just add vr6 resisters from vleds.com and for the led front lights just buy a drl controller easy to install
