Default Washer bottle cap

Anyone got a washer bottle cap that they don't need and would part with? I'm looking for one to chrome plate for a bit more bling.

Cheers,

Mitch

Amongst all the trot on the worse than knackered 164, I notice it has a proper washer bottle on it!!

I think Mitch might mean the expansion bottle cap?
"Cap" on the late washer bottle is the plastic motor housing. Some of these do have an aluminium sleeve on them.

Hi Derek,

Thanks but no the plastic windscreen washer cap. Plan is to paint it with conductive paint and then brush plate it with replica Chrome. Have no idea how well this works but want to give it a try.

Hi Mitch

I will have a look through see if I have one. I am really interested to see how this turn's out.

What washer bottle do you have as i believe there were a few different types?

Will let you know the outcome of my hunt!

Cheers

Richard

Do you mean the early, all metal topped ones? See the attached photo, bottom unit. Do you care if it works or are you going to rebuilt it anyway?

I think I sold this exact one a couple of months ago (dug about in my old photos) but I can check and see what is in the box of washers if this is what you are looking for....

Hi Chris,

Non working would be okay. Do you know if the early aluminium ones fit the later bottles? The plastic one might be the better option to try and plate being all the one material, but I'm up to give either a try to be honest, as it's all a learning experience.

Cheers,

Mitch

Sorry for the delay in the reply. Lots of parts being shipped right now.

I have both the alumn. topped and the later plastic one. All the bottles I have seen, have the same threads on top so they can be switched back and forth.

The alumn. on has some ding in it and the tube from the impeller chamber to the tube is broken (see last photo) but the motor works great and it would be a minor fix. The all plastic heads are tested good as well.

I'll drop you a PM with more details.

Chris
