Default V70 wet passenger footwell

Was looking at a 57 plate v70, lovely car and great spec but the passenger footwell was quite damp. Dealer tried put down to mats being cleaned and car powerhosed. Are there any common faults that may cause this? Cheers in advance.

^^^^what he said^^^^

Put your on inside of screen while stood looking at outside and work your way round and if glass moves away from metal work bonding has failed,

Usually along top edge

Any of the above but if it has a sunroof that would be my first bet. Reasonably simple cure pushing thin plastic tube down roof drain and blow either air or water to wash debris out . Water should exit at rear of front wheel arch behind will cover. If no sunroof look at windscreen bonding. Press from inside and you will see slight movement if it's gone. Get dealer to fit new screen. Badly fitted or damaged door seals could also allow water into foot well. Tip to dry out foot well , place a wad of old newspaper under mat and leave forfar day then replace with another. After a few days the carpet will be good and dry. If it's been leaking for any length of time it will stink .

Clearing a blocked sun roof drain should be straightforward as Model Flyer says however.........my drain hose was kinked (possibly an earlier poor quality refit after previous owners repairs) and I had to take the interior trim off the pillar to find the pipe and rectify. If it is the sun roof drain and you have problems fixing it come back and I'll try and remember the details of the repair I did.
