Default Power steering failure

Hi guys

So im having a right mess on with my power steering
So far i have had the pump replaced and its still off
I have orderd a reconditioned steering rack now hopefully this will fix it although the pump doesnt seem to be getting power i have checked the fuses and cleaned the cem
The mechanic said his diagnostic wasn't picking up the power steering at all there is no fluid leak and everything seems to be connectedd correctly

This is the only problem i have with my car apart from vibrations under load now and again ive had no power steering for about 7 months now

Any help much appriciated

Hi Collydogg, from what you say the problem does not appear to be with the rack and although you have replaced the pump it is not working. I am far from being an expert but the problem might be faulty wiring to the pump. There are many guys on here who can advise how to check the electrical connections to the pump. jack.

Hi Collydogg, did your mechanic check all electrical connections to the pump. Even if the rack was leaking fluid that wouldn't prevent the pump from working. Was the pump new or used. Could your mechanic bench test the pump for current jack
