Default Gearbox interchangability

My V40 has a JC5227-2 gearbox (Renault).
Which other boxes fits straight on without too much modifications?

The JB3 *** from a 1.6 s40/ v40 , will fit straight in with no modifications, but the ratios are a little different, so engine revs may be higher at motorway speeds.
Make sure that it comes from a volvo, & not a renault, as the bell housing will be different to mate up to the renault engine.
Although the M56 volvo box could be fitted, you will need to change a lot of other stuff such as gear linkage, driveshaft, clutch, & probably loads of other stuff
Mine is the 1.8,which originally had the jc5 gearbox, but i was only able to find a JB3 from a 1.6. so i put that in, there is not really that much difference in engine revs on slow roads & revs are only a little higher at motorway speed, fuel consumption is about the same .

Thanks for the quick reply, I would be helpless without the members on this forum.
Worst cast scenario is a gearbox change and it's nice to have more than one option of boxes.
My left driveshaft is leaking oil so I'll try first to replace the oil seal.
Drove the car 600 kilometres with possibly a dry gearbox before I noticed it had no oil, so if problems appear after the seal change I at least have two boxes to choose from.
