If you do keep/sort this car out, then I've also got an ex-police car.

I bought a scrapper centre console with retractable cupholder - wires underneath for cig lighter and Aux socket.

I re-wired one of the speakers that had been cut for some police reason.

I added one of those Apple Car Play/Android whatever screens that works via BT and is connected via Aux socket (as above).

I bought a proper rear floor from a scrapper to replace the mdf one.

Obviously you have some problems with yours but mine has been one of the best car buys ever. Coming up for 210k miles and still pulls like a train and handles very sprightly for such a barge - love it.
A few niggles as you might find on any Volvo but nothing outrageous.

Hope you get it resolved.

also another mechanic has said dont bother throwing money at it, get the engine swapped so hes off hunting for one for me
