Default Intermittent Boost Control Valve

Morning Gents ,

Has anyone had issues with intermittent boost control valves,I have recently cleaned with brake cleaner and car seemed ok , however last night on way home it's started playing up again ? , it holds back around 1800 revs and then accelerates as it should , I've also getting smoke as well , I pulled over and disconnected the valve and hey presto it behaved it's self no noticeable smoke ? , left it over night plugged in this morning and all was well ? Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance
