Default 300-series event - 11th September - Crich, Derbyshire

Hi all,

Apologies for the late posting of this. As with last year, I've suddenly realised (although not *quite* as late as last...) that I haven't done any posting for this event on forums and Facebook.

For this year's VOC (and V3M) national 'event', we're heading back to the venue for the first event of modern times - the Tramway Village at Crich, in Derbyshire. We had a great day there back in 2010, and I'm hoping we'll get a good turn-out again. We'll be meeting on Sunday 11th September at 10am.

I'm very happy to organise something for the day before (Saturday 10th) if anyone is interested. Last time, we had a drive around the Peak District, followed by a pub dinner, and camping / B&B accomodation. Let me know if you'd like to come along for that.

We will have the "bandstand" area again, but they have extended an invitation to allow us to park older cars down at the bottom of the village, which is excellent. They normally only allow this for tax-exempt cars, so to make up for our cars being 75-onwards, I've promised to make sure it's the oldest cars only down there. On that basis, I'd particularly like to get a selection of mk1s there, if at all possible. I'll have mine there, but can we get any others?

Of course, all are welcome! They have requested that anything "modern" is parked in the main car park, although we were able to sneak a few FWD-era cars up closer to the bandstand last time. On that basis, we'll start by reserving parking on the main village site for RWD-era cars, with priority for 300s.

Admission is £10 per head. We are hoping to offer free entry to VOC members, depending on the number of attendees, and may even be able to extend this further, depending, again, on how many people turn up.

I hope to see you there if you're able to make it!

Pictures from 2010...

cheers

James
