I have just bought a cracking low mileage 2003 S40 in silver, the silver ones are the best right??
My radio also needed the security code but it was nowhere in the service pack, bloody women owners don't they know how important this stuff is.
I called the original selling dealer in Peterborough twice three weeks ago and was promised a call back with the code, still waiting. I am glad I am not a Volvo owner in Peterborough.
My local Volvo dealer in Poole came up trumps though, called the service department and was given the code over the phone. Big thanks to Poole Volvo.

I have a radio code issue and thankfully i can read! Thank you to whoever posted rufe email option after contacting my main dealer and getting no reply probably because they are fed up of getting the same question?? Hopefully other people will follow the advice or there may be lots of people in A&E with monitors wedged in their heads! 😂

I disabled the alarm,cos I'm clever,then smashed the front window in a V40 yesterday and nicked the radio noting down the registration and VIN.
Today on the way to the local Main Dealer I popped into the co-op and bought a packet of mince pies for a pound.
At the Dealer I offered the parts guy and his mates a mince pie and he gave me the code for my new radio for free.
I have put this radio which is now complete with code on ebay for £60.00 plus p&p.
Any one who does'nt have the code for their radio please reply to this post with their address,the car registration,where it is generally parked at night and what time you go to bed.

There is a bit of a trade off between security and happy customers here but I'd just like to thank all those who have advised that the code can be obtained from their local dealer for free, or a small fee. Took me 2 calls - first dealer offered to supply for free if I went down with my log book (good security but bit of a pfaff). 2nd dealer had given me the code almost before I'd finished giving my Reg No. Excellent service, happy customer but I'm glad it is my radio in my car. :-)

Again - THANKS from a Newbie/Returnee (had 340 and V70 in past, now got V40).
