Ended up replacing it with an old Jeep Cherokee! I looked all over but found the 740's and 760's seemed to be almost non existent in the for sale ads, the 240's have gone up too much in price, and the V70's were either too good for what I wanted or in a right state! The only 2 which looked perfect were a 740 hearse that had been converted into a musicians van but then he took it off the market when the deal he was doing for a new van fell through and another 740 hearse, all original and low mileage which looked perfect but the dealer who had it never answered his phone or returned messages! Typically just a couple of weeks after I bought the Jeep that same original hearse popped up on a facebook ad being sold by another trader!

The 760 just stopped working one day and I couldn't get it to fire up again, eventually I gave up and sold it to another enthusiast for £50 which was basically scrap value and he discovered the ignition switch had shorted which had burnt out a lot of the wiring behind the dashboard and screwed up the ECU as well!

Sorry to hear that, sounds like it was quite a terminal issue... Shame as it was a nice one
