850 Parts: - Sunroof

Trying to find a replacement sunroof for my 1996 850R saloon as current one playing up - behaved as if it'd got scrambled last time I tried it. Motor and control unit tested and ok. Garage suspects cables or mechanism fault but need to do complete strip down to inspect. Don't think cables are avail as a part, so although it's a long shot, makes sense to try and find complete replacement unit before booking the car in. Can anyone help? Thanks

Always been my fancy to get a whole roof (to use as a template) with one fitted from a breaker and copy it across, to fit one to mine. Let me know how you get on in repair. I'm sure Lakes in Wyboston will have one.

You were spot on - have spoken to Barry and just need to sort a date when I can escape the office to get there and collect. Car booked in for mid-May so can give you the low down on how it went after that. Thanks so much!

Please, if you get a chance, have an eye to where the loom is on these things. I believe regardless of factory options list the loom is the same, thus all cars will have wiring for the sunroof in there soemwhere. Thus when you sniffle around, see what you can make-out. i would be very intersted to know where your roof plugs into the loom, so that I knwo where to look to find my plug, if it exists. Ta very much.

Else, does anyoen know for sure or am I talking out my er??...
