Why is having a limited car an issue?

Oh.. Having one is not an issue at all!

Having to have one, on the other hand.. Or in other words: having no choice but a car with that thing..

That's quite a different matter.

I agree totally but if it’s going to limit deaths by speeding then I welcome it. Everyone breaks the speed limit, everyone..... if anyone says they don’t then they’re lying. It’s the street racers, the person who’s running late etc etc who blatentky breaks the speed limit in some of the most inappropriate places that puts people and other drivers at risk. My street is a classic example, a wide residential street that’s a short cut to avoid a set of traffic lights and speed bumps on the main road running parallel. Some drivers use it like a race track and blitz from top to bottom. I usually drive up my street 25mph due to a couple of blind side streets, I actually had a car overtake me one day going at warp speed... Why? Are they in such a hurry that they are prepared to risk someone’s life? How much time did they save? 10 seconds? 20 seconds? Those drivers are the reason

It will cost Volvo sales, no doubt. The dyed in the wool fanboys will still buy them but the same people who use android rather than Apple will say sod it, not having some manufacturer dictating to me. They'll buy a BMW / Audi / Merc and never drive it over 90 mph. Freedom of choice innit.

Strangely, I use android!

And the only 2 uses I've got for apple products are either a doorstop, or something to throw in general direction of a fox.

But I can't see myself in any of these German makes.
For one thing- I DO use indicators

And then, on a little bit more serious note- I believe that given some time, state of roads thorough our part of Earth will improve. Maybe even sufgiciently enough to allow speeds in excess of 100mph become "a normal thing".

And I point I'm not going to argue, as it pretty much sums it up: IT IS MY CHOICE.
Not some £#@&%£#!! sitting in front of highway agency computer or another, calculating potential revenue to his company.

Mine.
Both the choice and responsibility.

Enough of upbringing kids to be adults about as responsible for their own actions as cleptomaniac in an unsecured jewelry shop.

Or pyromaniac in a fireworks factory.

Or politician with access to funding.

This is one of those who’s gunna do it first? Everyone sits back and awaits the results and if it favourable, they copy it. If it saves lives governments will enforce it and if you want to sell your cars in their economy you’ll have to comply. The French authorities will love it, the Dutch will and I would imagine the rest of Europe will adopt it annnnnnd the UK will definitely jump on the wagon.... Watch this space as they say.

It's almost like the hue and cry when Volvo fitted engines no higher than two litres and all those guys who would never buy Volvo again and would have BMW, Audi instead. Don't hear much about that now. Likewise, 116 mph, I bet the vast majority have never driven that speed in their lives so what's the problem. I like a bit of a burst now and again but I have never driven at that speed in my S80 although I may have touched 100mph. That seems to be the magic figure. And most people are aware if they are caught at 100 and above they are going to lose their licence.

I've driven at speeds in excess of 140 mph, not because I had to but because I like to. I'm a petrol head and probably always will be. I done so when it was safe to.
As to the limiters it's like the dpf or egr, if you don't like it just map it off!

That’ll be the outcome, once the warranty is up you can do what you want. That is unless it becomes part of the Mot then that opens up a new can of worms
