Default Sensus Navigation update times

Morning all

I have a 2014 V70 that has the 2015 Sensus nav system. When updating it does anyone else’s Volvo take hours and hours.

Updated it on Saturday, started at 2pm and it was still going the next day. Now on that occasion due to lack of use I am assuming it was due to low battery charge as that did pop up.

But other times I have updated when car was getting used daily, it would take appx 5 - 6 hours.

Also why is 19gb??? My Tom Tom full update for Uk & Europe (same as Volvo) is around 280mb, if it is because of whole of Europe maybe they should split it up.

It does take a few hours for it to update. That's why the car allows the upload to be stopped and resumed when you turn the car off. Just leave the USB stick plugged in and when you do eventually use the car it'll start updating.
In terms of the file size - I guess it replaces all the mapping information rather than just adding/removing data to the maps in the HDD.
