Default Seat belt recall

Hi,

How can I visually check if this seat belt fix has been applied to my V70?

Regards,
Henrik

Not sure but if you do MOT check with your reg it tells you if the car has any outstanding recalls. I'm assuming the dealer has to input it

Have a look to see if the metal braided strap is still present on your seatbelt buckle.
Apparently you only need to remove the plastic shrouding around the seat.

Thanks, will have a look.

I think we had this fixed previously, but we still received the recall letter and the dealer that fixed it says it hasn't been done.

That link from Pidgeonpost works brilliantly. Just enter your VIN and Volvo tell you if anything is needed to be done. Mine has clearly been done (without telling me) when it was in for the aircon replacement

It works brilliantly as long as the Volvo garage entered into the system that they did it.

My question was "How can I visually check", not "Does Volvo think this has been done".

Regards,
Henrik

If you're unable to confirm it visually yourself by whatever means why not just drop in to your local dealer and ask them to check visually and show you what the modification looks like?

Because I've used up all my holidays. I suppose I could email them a photo though.

Regards,
Henrik

You could do that. Also says elsewhere on the link I posted, which you may already have read:

"Is my car safe to use? What should I do if I am concerned regarding my seatbelt?

We have no reports of any related incidents to this recall issue.

Until your vehicle has been repaired, we recommend that the driver and passenger ensure that the seat belt fastening is in a vertical position, aligned with the backrest, so that it will not be bent over the seat cushion when entering the seat. This will reduce the risk of damage of the seat belt fastening.

An indicator of this is visible damage to the rubber sleeve in which the cable is housed. While we will work to have all affected cars corrected as soon as possible, if you are concerned, you can contact your retailer for a visual inspection".

Good luck.
