Service costs
Good evening
So I have owned my 2017 V90 D4 for around 3 months, I popped out to shops in it today and a message popped up saying service required in 25 days. My last car was a V40 that I had for a good few years and had it serviced at a good independent garage. With the V90 I think I want to take it to a main dealer as they can check and update the safety systems etc. Also for some reason I can't connect to the internet any longer (spotify) this stopped around the time I uploaded the latest maps?I The car is showing 62k, so what sort of cost will I be looking at and what is required at this milage? Thank you Richard

Service Cost Indicator not working
I tried the Service Cost Indicator and it didn't work for me either.
Would be interested how much could be saved by going to dealers in different parts of the country. Seems the only way to gauge that is to phone a few dealers to get a price. Still service intervals are extended so my car thinks it needs a service now but it can be extended to the end of September (as I don't do the max mileage) so that should help with budgeting a bit.

Hi DD,
Please check that your car is covered by the extended service provision from Volvo. My car is due the 1st service at the end of June and I thought it was extended under the provision but it turns out there is a cut off and it is now outside the extension. Worth checking just to assure yourself that the warranty will not be voided. |

As an example for an XC90 Petrol in Yorkshire.
290 for year 1,3,5,7 service 480 for year 2,4,6 service 1080 for year 8 service. All excluding brake fluid change if that is your kind of thing. I can usually negotiate about 10 percent off the above. V90 should be a touch cheaper. You also get free VOC breakdown assistance for 12 months following your service which is worth a few quid. For me the extra benefits are worth the cost of the main dealer, although I might think hard about the year 8 cam belt service........

There will be a bit of a difference in service prices depending on geography (dealers in large city centres will charge more) but there probably won't be much difference elsewhere and there's the convenience factor to consider. Worth calling a few dealers though.

I happened to go through this process for a V90 last week before they updated the website. Im looking to purchase my own soon rather than the company one im currently running so wanted to know service costs.
These prices were from a couple of dealers around South Yorkshire, but i did notice that the prices varied across the country (of course). Hope its helpful. |

If you are south yorks based then I always get good service from Riverside Doncaster. I have a pathological hatred of Stoneacre (and most big chain dealers) which rules out a lot of the others (Sheffield, Chesterfield, Lincoln, Grimsby......). btw I notice you are also a Magic Blue and Amber leather person - good choice!
