Basically both remote controls suddenly stopped working on my 99 V70 T5. All 4 doors still open and close with the drivers door key so I know all the actuators and switches are fine. I have no idea if this means the alarm has stopped working, but I suspect so as the little red LED no longer flashes. The only thing that happened immediately prior to this was me swapping the internals of one remote fob from a broken case into another shell from Ebay. Can anyone tell me conclusively what is broken and if its repairable without some expensive coding exercise at the dealer? I have seen used remote/alarm modules on Ebay but I am unsure if the age of my car precludes interchanging used parts.
