s60 headlight positioning broken?
Hi Everyone
I had a garage explain that my headlights are out of position, and that they have tried to adjust THIS module here (you can see where they tried) But can't and say I need a whole new headlight. I just wanted to check if i can replace this module here where circled or i indeed need a new headlight This is what it should look like Thanks |

you don't need a whole new headlight that'd be well expensive
you can get new adjuster motors (check it is the right type first) something like this it doens't seem to be on scandix but your local volvo dealers might be kind and confirm the part number (possibly even offer a sensible price ?) to replace it is a bit of a faff to be honest. on balance you're probably better off committing to removing the bumper and headlight and taking it indoors on the table to play with. if it's the same as mine (Earlier glass style halogen headlight) getting the old motor out you have to slide the ball shaped end sideways out of a kind of C-sectioned piece of track. then to put it back in, wind the new motor all the way out and do the same in reverse. it's a fiddle but not impossible what's really annoying is I actually had a spare one of those knocking about last year some time and I think I ended up ditching it.. I'll have a look later but it might not be the same part number anyway Last edited by stuart bowes; Jul 25th, 2023 at 12:19. |

In the first picture from the topic-starter you can see in the upper right corner a piece of the height adjustment motor..
Have to see if these adjusters have a partnumber… I refurbish and convert/modify a lot of these headlights ( halogen-xenon and abl xenon) so I have lots of parts in my storage… |

The more common are the electric type used for self levelling Xenon or the type you can adjust using the control next to the headlight switch inside the car. Your link goes to this type. You can also get manual adjusters (no electric motor). Old school: you use a 6mm socket to adjust your lights. Cosmozach needs this type, and so do I. Hope this clears things up! |

The electric type are used on all the facelift headlights, halogen/xenon and abl…
Controlled by the adjuster inside the car or by the ride height controlled by the cem.. they all have the 6mm white socket on top for little manual adjustment’s…! |
