RE: My 240 GL has just died.
What year is your car?? Sounds like no fuel. Sure the fuel gauge isn't stuck?? Otherwise, try pulling a plug cable and holding it close to the engine block while a friend is cranking it over. Any spark?? It could also be the ... what's it called ... Thermo resistor?? It's located next to the radiator I think (was on my car anyway). Try short wiring it and start again. Have you done anything to the car recently??

Open the fuse cover in the passenger footwell, and check fuse no.6 I believe its a red one (high amps)
It's the fuse for one of the fuel pumps and if it goes, so does ur fuel :) I've had this happen twice in mine, over a period of 14 years, its running fine then it just cuts out and refuses to start. Just a thought anyway |

The car is a 1989 with a B200E engine.
There is plenty of fuel. It did this to me on saturday night but started after three tries. I tried it this morning and it still won't start. |

Corroded fuse sockets?? Vapor lock?? Well you have some ideas to work on now :) Good luck.

I checked the fuse and yes it had blown so I change it and the engine started first turn.
Thank you all for your help. Lewis Griffiths |

Worth trying to find out why the fuse had blown. It may indicate the fuel pump is on the way out, and taking excessive current.
Fuses are always a weak point on the 240 - see my own thread. |
