Default 2005 S60 D5 SE Geeartronic

If a purchase comes through - this will be up for sale this week.

It's a 2005 S60 SE in black with oak leather interior.
163 D5 engine (No DPF but has the facelift looks)
Geartronic box which works as it should
Approx 165k miles (haven't got it with me just now to check)
MOT til 12 January 2018 (Reg OE05 JXF if you want to check the MOT history)

Since MOT I have fitted new discs and pads all round (Mintex), and sourced a replacement Orestes wheel to replace one with a dented inner rim.
It also got a pair of Kumho HS51 on the front shortly after MOT. Avon ZV7s fitted to the rear last July at 152k.

Plenty of service history with this, and I've serviced it twice in the time I've had it, with genuine filters (including pollen, which nobody ever seems to do). The belts were done at 125k.

I fitted a Witter towbar last year to carry a bike rack. It's also done a few tip runs with my little trailer, but nothing heavy (I have a Rangie for that). I live in Cumbria and I've driven this to London a few times, the Midlands once a month or so, up to Glasgow and home to Ireland (right out to the West Coast as well) a couple of times. I'd trust it to go anywhere, and did in fact buy it for a European road trip last summer which ended up not happening. The aircon blows ice cold and it also has a sunroof, which I use as much as possible! It also has the upgraded stereo with the extra front door speakers.

It's a fantastic motorway cruiser, it could do with some new engine mounts (a top mount and transmission steady might be all it needs) but doesn't need much else really.

It's pretty tidy for the age, the rear bumper has a slightly grazed patch and there are a couple of car park/trolley dings, but it still scrubs up well.

The only message which comes up on the dash is 'Alarm Service System Required' which is the siren module - a roughly £100 fix. It has never bothered me enough to sort, as I live in a very quiet village. It doesn't make any noise.

I'm happy to deliver it anywhere in the UK, especially if I can tie it in with a collection trip for a replacement, just message for a price.

My other half has been using it for the last 6 weeks, so I don't have any 'right now' photos, but I'll post a few which are all recent. I bought the car from a forum member in June/July last year (and immediately fitted 4 good new tyres to it to replace the set of 50p pieces fitted to it) and tidied it up quite a bit, so I'm hoping to recoup most of my money, but as always, I'm open to offers.

Asking price is £1750 ono. Thule roof bars can be included by negotiation

I'll be heading down to Swindon from Cumbria with my trailer this coming weekend, so I'm happy to deliver the car anywhere along my route down the M6 if it helps anyone who wants it, but is a bit far away.

Will get more photos hopefully tomorrow when it's back with my good lady.

It's back, I've got my V70 to replace it, and I've given it a quick clean and taken some new photos, and put it on eBay.

Open to offers as I'll be SORNing it at the end of May.

Happy to deliver on the trailer for cost.

I bought this car last year. Pulling up outside my house last week at low speed, lots of unpleasant noise from under the bonnet and it appears that the aux belt has partially failed and seemingly interfered with the cambelt which is now loose.

So I suspect some significant engine damage has been done! Before I send it to scrap I wondered if anyone here would like to come and trailer it away for breaking or repair?

Any decent offer and it's yours - I'd rather see it repaired or used for spares than crushed!

Up until this happening it was extremely reliable, no issues at MOT and all I've had to do is put a new tyre on it a few weeks ago. So it's worth at least scrap value plus the price of a new Avon ZV7 tyre!

How sad to see yet another (among many) D5 engine taken down by a failed aux belt. No doubt valves are bent. Do you know what caused the aux bent to tear, which pulley is seized?

I think the aux belt was being rubbed by the bracket holding the PAS hose just above it. Not sure about the pulleys, I'll have a better look when I get chance.
