ABS - 2000 S70 - 30,000 miles
The ABS system seems to be kicking in more frequently. On either smooth or slightly bumby roads, at 5 mph or 50 mph, the system kicks in when the brakes are applied. The light stays out. I never had an ABS equipped auto that did this. Have had it to the dealer 4 times. Of course nothing is wrong. I am suspecting a bad sensor that is setting the system off. Am I too sensitive or is the system?

RE: ABS - 2000 S70 - 30,000 miles
Hi ya,
I haven't heard of this problem on an s70 before though. The sensors firstly can be cleaned by extracting them out of the recesses in the wheels. Next you will need a scan tool that is compatible with Volvo's conection to read if you have any fault codes after the event. If it has been into the dealer they should of done this and cleared them for you ? The ABS should work from 0 upto about 30mph not in full flight as it were. Try and take it to an independant brake specialist and have a brake test done and get any codes read. Mark.
