I'm from a different school of thought - I'm all fur coat & no knickers when it comes to looks over function. That said: I'm not tempted to tint my lights.
Hopefully those 35W HIDs will sort you out - they certainly do look impressivve (I've put some on my shopping list). I've got to ask what do your indicators look like ?? I'm loving the front grille too - where did you get it ? Cheers Paddy |

Sorry, but when I first saw the pics, I thought the headlights and grille had been removed. Having said that, I hope you get the headlights sorted, I’m having alignment problems with my xenons, currently so dangerously low that I have to use main beam most of the time, and not being flashed at for dazzling!

Haha yeah i meant you lizardofbodom. 😂😂
Thanks mate i do get alot of postive feedback for the looks of my car. Shame its slow as a turtle though 😂 Thought if i cant have speed ill have looks. 👍 Yeah im not going to change the lenses i want the clear lense in the new projectors, because from your pervious posts it has better cut off & sharpness Orsam night breakers haha i have them in the car now & they are rubbish. Hence why i have purchased new projectors & want a HID kit. Sooooooo is slealth HID & good chioce or not? The guys on the other end of emails from HID4U selling them says the ballest are design not to give me WMM issues, dash warnings etc. HID4U recommend as a alternative from HID Twentey20 H7 P300 LED! To disable DLR would this need to be done at a volvo dealership? & is POS0 parking side light option on the light switch? Paddy...as lizard man said i brought my front grill from a USA company called Dubstop on ebay. Cost around £75 i think. Indicators still light up bright enough if thats what you mean. Baxlin why dont you pop to local MOT & get them to set them? Last edited by Kidman; Mar 20th, 2019 at 11:30. |

Stealth seem to be reputable and most people running those kits here are happy with it so its defo better than going for noname brand. DRL disable unfortunately must be done in dealership. POS0 that I meant is the "lights off" position. Basically your 3way switch goes as: POS0 - lights off (but with DRL you have lights on in this position) POS1 - parking lights POS2 - dipped beam. DRL disable will just make POS0 to have no lights at all, so proper "lights off". It is important, because if your HIDs will run on POS0 with reduced PWM it will make all nasty stuff including WMM going bang. But if you leave your light switch constantly on POS2 and you will be sure noone ever put it in POS0, you technically dont need to disable DRLs. Its just a safety precaution basically. Regardles of the above you have to run 2 external ground wires, just to further protect yourself even if ballasts are "100% safe" as no, they are not. It cost nothing and adds extra layer of protection. If you dont want to put antiflicker capacitors, you dont have to but those cost like 9e per pair and if something goes wrong, those tend to "die" first so again - better safe then sorry.

Ok so new projectors finally arrived today.
They look huge at first glance hopefully the fit no problerm. I have a question there is a small cable which runs from which looks like a small motor at the bottom that looks like it controls a flap???!! Do ignore this ? Or does it need to plug in somewhere i swear the originals Dont have these in the pojectors?! A little confused i must say! 😂 |

The wires on your new projectors are connected to an actuator that opens the 'cut-off' shutter flap.
Basically, it opens the flap to assist your high beam bulbs as well. You just need to plug the cable ends into the connector that goes to your high beam, so that when you flash your high beam, it opens the flap on the dipped beams too. You dont have to do this, as this car already has a seperate main beam, but its a nice option if you want to use it. I haven't personally but a lot of other people have. |

Hi Kidman
Do you're self a favour m8 and Go to www.hids-direct.co.uk and take a look see on there. Unfortunately I see they have problems at the moment with their premises being damaged by last month's weather but at least you can browse their goods and see what is available for you when they are up and running again.......Worth the wait in my opinion. MTEC is the range I suggest you particularly take notice of which is what I bought and after having bought these will not buy major brands again. They are a Japanese firm that have supplied the rally industry with bulbs for quite a few years and built up a decent reputation and their prices compared to main brands are ridiculous but very kind to your pocket. Bought some h9's main beam bulbs on there for my XC90 (which everywhere else seemed hard to get but h7's are more common)which has active bi-xenon fitted with about 4k7 beam colour but made the existing main beam h9's already fitted look yellow and horrible. Found a set of main beams on there at 4k7 beam colour and @55w so no match problem. (Not to be mixed up with the bi-xenon they are a separate bulb). Miles better than originals and awesome crisp white light from them.. Cosmic Blue is the one you want in 55w flavour an awesome purchase at £13.99 for a pair. It's not blue at all only in name but a seriously good night-cutting legal day-light white light. I have to say I live in a semi-rural area and when I fitted these I went for a night drive just to see how good they were with a semi non believing attitude but was mightily impressed at how the beam (possibly because of the light frequency chosen) was able to cut through the night and illuminate things way way ahead, but not as a wall of light, but picking out things at the side of the road such as post boxes in semi-foggy conditions (where driving on full beam you would normally experience beam bounce back but not at all with these bulbs) and then when on a dual carriage-way (not lit) how they picked out road signs and slip road exit cats eyes(the green and red ones that you normally can't bloody see until your right on top of them). Very good prices and quick delivery as well.
