S80 for scrap - any parts worth stripping
A family member has just bought a new car and his old S80 is destined for the scrap heap. The car was absolutely fully loaded so I'm wondering there is anything that should be saved off the car before it goes.
It's a 2007 2.5 T SE/LUX GEARTRONIC Euro 4 in navy blue Interior is heated black leather, walnut trim, heated seats, rear headrest entertainment system (dvd and phono plugs in centre console), HU has Bluetooth (phone only) and no nav Anything aside from spare wheel, mirrors (only last year had to play 600+ to replace heated electric mirror), alloys, lights worth hanging onto? Storage space is limited and we are located in Ireland (between Belfast and Dublin regularly) so it may not be possible to hang onto any big slow moving parts On another note - I have a 2011 2.0 c30 redesign, are there any bits I should be interested in keeping for my car Thanks Dc30 |

I'd be interested in the boot handle if that's available. Should just unscrew from below with the lights as well. the boot loom would be useful to me too, from the inside to the lock that is. Happy to pay for the postage of it etc.

Will see what I can do but whether he will be able to remove it/the mechanic who's yard it is in for now is willing to help is yet unknown
He just asked me to find out about the big ticket items before it goes to scrap, not sure if how much effort he's willing to put in |

I know someone who would be interested in the air intake scoop.
Is it this one? If so, he'd like to have it.

I'm interested in the electric power steering pump if it's got one.

Flog it as one lump to Ecopart at Nutt's Corner? Saves you having to deal with taking it to pieces and ending up with a load of stuff you still have to shift! My old XC70 got £2k from a breakers as it was in good nick.

I think it may be hydraulic as towards the end it was leaking and he would regularly top it off when the steering got heavy and it made a grindy sort of noise. Does that mean it's hydraulic if it needed fluid? |

Very interesting I had presumed he'd get hundreds based on weight! Car is in ROI (it's me in NI) so will have to see what he gets offered locally
