No track info over Bluetooth ('Streaming... ')

I've recently switched phones from a Samsung s7 Edge to an Honor 10 and have one major annoyance. In my car (2011 c30 redesign with full bt audio) I just get the word 'Streaming...' on screen when playing audio whether it is local or Spotify. Steering wheel controls all work fine

The Samsung worked fine and my work iPhone works fine so it must be something on the Honor.

Has anybody come across this issue or have any ideas re solutions?

How are you streaming to the car? I have to plug my iPhone into the USB port?

I have this on my 2012 C30 Rdesign with my Lenovo P2 phone it sometimes displays partial track info but never the full details.
I think its a limitation of the software on the audio unit as the unit is just an update from the previous C30 unit so I guess when it was first developed there was no BT streaming audio spec

Have found out elsewhere that this is caused by the phone using an avrcp version that is newer than what the car supports (AV remote control protocol)

Dropping down to avrcp 1.4 or 1.5 should fix this.

Unfortunately for me huawei's EMUI customisation of android does not allow this to be changed but other manufactures do. Hopefully this can help someone in future

Noticed that my song/artist details were showing on screen since last week when my phone updated to EMUI 9

Hopefully this will be the case for all Huawei/Honor owners
