From what i can gather, their products are great, customer service not so much and god forbid if sommat goes wrong, you pay return shipping too, they will then reimburse should a manufacturing fault be proven. If its just a return due t change of mind etc, there is a restocking fee although no mention of how much.

I suppose its quite hard on other companies when we become so used to practises such as Amazons.

I wish i had researched 1st instead of going on hearsay

My experience was the reverse, I had a problem with a part on a strimmer that broke during assembly. Rang up , explained the problem and a new part arrived in two days. That’s why I recommend them in the first place, great products and great customer service and a comprehensive parts back up.

Have you ever tried to buy a part from some of the suppliers out there?

It's why I buy named items and am prepared to pay for professional tools where I can justify it.

I was buying Karcher pressure washers from Halfords, got trade card so they were reasonable price. Lucky if they lasted one winter.
Went up market to sthile, £320 machine and had 2 fail to work out the box.

Went to local powere tool specialist knowing it would cost. Came out £520 poorer with an industrial karcher, the tool he sells to local farms. Into 3rd year and it has never failed to do the job I want of it, and if it does it is repairable localy.
Surprisingly, because it works every time I find myself useing it more. Where it was will it work or will I have to spend an hour getting the machine going for a 10 minute job, bugger it will manage with the hosepipe and brush. Now it's I've got it so will use it because it will work.

Horses for courses really. Every item with 'Reviews' will give you conflicting information because everyone's expectations are different etc; I bought my last jack from SGS & was delighted with the quality of it, the delivery was next day & communication with them was as it should be.
As for Karcher? I bought my Karcher K4 second hand on ebay for £20 over 4 years ago & it has never let me down despite me giving it a very hard life indeed (apart from needing a new hose as I kinked the original and it leaked)!

It finally arrived yesterday, the part that the handle goes in is quite flimsy, no way can i see it lasting anywhere near as long as my old jack, prob about 20 years for the latter. Granted, it is a 360 handle meaning i can pump it from any angle of which is what I need due to lack of room under the carport, however, i didnt expect slack Alice, not to mention vigorous pumping for very little movement, I dont think I am missing anything from the manual; make sure the knob is tight, stick it in the hole, pump it until finished.

I've always gone to Machine Mart for jacks and axle stands - their Clarke brands are very well made IMHO. My 3T professional trolley jack is probably 10 years old and still works perfectly. The axle stands (1pr 6T, 1pr 3T) are all in perfect condition despite being used frequently on 2.6 ton landrovers...

When you get them on a VAT free promo deal they're very good value.

With those instructions you should be well satisfied with the result.

It has got oil in it has it?

Every new jack I have ever bought said to operate it through its full operation cycle a couple of times to clear any airlock that may of been caused by transit.. I have bought engine crane rams that came only half full of oil. Topping them up with type 46 hydraulic oil soon cured the short travel problem. Likewise my 10 ton porta power needs occasional Topping up as I disconect the pipe to store it when low on oil they all give the symptoms you describe.
