My 244DL isn't the oldest but its pretty old, first registered in April 1976. Only 35500 miles on it though

Tim Olsen's 244 is a '75.. Early I believe.

Also this, taken from the 240 group again. Owned by a Michael Webb(?)

Don't forget John Brown's 244...

Grabbed from Flickr..

That's the 240 group exhausted of early 240 photos..

Was GEH967N the same car that appeared a few years ago, some young guy had bought it and for the 'rat' look (in his words), he destroyed some of the paint with acid? It ended up with the 'pointlessly vandalised with a bucket of acid' look.

It appears to be in good shape for its age, nothing a bit of spray paint wouldn't sort out.

Going outside the UK.... What's the oldest 240 in the world? Surely someone out there has chassis no. #00000001.

Great thread and nice to see saloons (my favourite) strongly represented - cant beat the looks of early 240s IMO

00001 to 11 were probably destroyed in crash testing and endless modifications

unless someone knows better

Great pictures in this thread Would love a pre 1980 244 some day. Can you ever get one for £500- £1,000?
