Default Premium audio & replacing HU.

After reading quite a bit I'm close to order the stuff I think I need for replacing the head unit in my XC90. Just wanted to double check it'll work for my car.

I have an XC90 MY 06, with Premium Audio (Dynaudio). I see the incartec set: https://incartec.co.uk/product/Volvo...ace-FK-860-PDC
Would this kit combined with a Kenwood DMX7018DABS work? I'd be bypassing the amp if I understand correctly and hook up the speakers directly to the new HU.

Also want to add https://incartec.co.uk/product/Volvo...amera-CA-VOL01.

What I don't see, yet, is how the incartec kit works with the fiber optic signal. I don't see a fiber optic cable in the kit. Am I missing something?

That interface bypasses the MOST fiber optic system completely

You will thus loose the following MOST-based functions (if any of these are fitted to your car)
  • Built-in Telephone
  • Navigation Audio
  • Parking camera (because nav system may not work)
  • Front PDC beeps
  • Rear PDC beeps
I see the kit allows for an external beeper for the PDC (parking sensor) beeps.

Thanks. I'll add a rear camera so I can live without the beeps for now!

It's a fun job. I bought a whole kit from Connects2 which includes the reversing beeper module, the steering wheel controls, and all the required cabling.

The main pain in the backside is that you need to take the screen and system board from your existing system and keep it plugged in but hidden behind the dash as other stuff stops working (like central locking) without it.

Also make sure you wire everything up before you turn the ignition back or you'll need VIDA to clear a load of faults.

I've got the DMX7017DABS and it doesn't go back all the way flush, it's about 2cm proud, so my son 3d printed a cover to go round the gap.

Not sure if the 7018 is the same, but I just connected the parking brake wire to ground as otherwise a load of functions get turned off.

it looks like your kit retains the function of the sensors
