Exclamation XC60 2011 Front Bumper Removal

Hi all,

First post here, never posted on a forum before - previous C30 D5 owner for 7 years now moved on to the bigger XC60 recently.

I have a slow coolant leak which I have been attempting to locate the source of today.
I’ve located what I believe is the problem - a plastic foot on the lower drivers side of the rad, where it sits on the radiator support. The plastic foot is ‘crimped’ onto the ally rad but the plastic foot is directly mounted to a metal support frame, I think the vibration here is inevitably going to weaken this joint in time..

Anyway in my haste to get access to the rad, I decided to remove the front bumper, and this is where I am now left scratching my head...
There are two rubbery type parts which fell off when I removed the bumper (I didn’t see exactly where they came from) I’ve spent ages trying to find where they look like they should go back on with little success..

The part numbers are 31294170 and 31294171
I have tried looking for diagrams online and haven’t seen anything with enough detail to clarify the parts position and purpose.
I’ve searched YouTube and google for guides to remove the front bumper but none of the guides or videos show details of these parts.

I am sure someone has an answer for me and I bet I’ll kick myself when I’m told how obvious it is (hopefully).

I’ve currently just attached the bumper using a few screws and left the mystery parts out for now as I’ve run out of time to work on it, but aim to finish tomorrow - also turns out removing the bumper was not necessary.. and that’s what you get for rushing.

Thanks in advance,
Joe.

Did you ever solve the mystery? I'm trying to find the same information, except in my case Dealer took the bumper apart for an estimate and left these parts out. Going back to the dealer to fix the issue is not that easy, so I prefer to tackle this myself.
