Default windscreen/glass sealer

hi all..

does anyone use a glass sealer to keep the rain off, i use rain-x but i know there are some more permanent sealers out there and i want to seal my screen for the forthcoming bad weather..

so, what sealer do you guys use and how long does it last between coats.

TIA

I Use Rain X or Halfords equivalent, but just recently I read on a detailing site that the Gyeon or G-Techniq products are the best out there for windscreen sealants, in terms of performance and longevity. Not tried either but will do so when my current bottle of the Halfords stuff runs out.

The problem with Rain X is the durability - it doesn't last very long and you'll have to keep re-applying.

The best product out there is Aquapel. But trying to source in the UK is hard, I tend to import mine from the US. This lasts 6 months easy, performs well and is really easy to apply.

GTechniq do some great stuff and I regularly use their products. For windscreen uses G1

Ive previously used the GTechniq G1 - it does work to repel water very well
but i found that it did not last that well and the effect dimissed quite quickly after a couple of months - certainly not the 1-2 years their product page states. it might last that long if you don't actually use the car ...
as i found it a bit of a bind to apply i have fallen back to wiping over with rainX when ever i feel like it

I use Rain X 2 in 1 Glass Cleaner and Rain Repellent. I tend to give the windows a quick go over every time I wash the cars. Does a good job, easy to apply and cheap as chips from Costco.
