I used BM Catalyst in Mansfield years ago. The replacement CAT for a BWM rattled like a collection of empty tin cans when fitted and they refused to refund/exchange. Avoid these lot at all costs.

Personally, I'd be tempted to try my luck at a Volvo breakers or go down the sports CAT route.

Don't quote me on this, but I know with this era of cars there was both an angled and straight flange but, I am not certain what models have the straight flange.

On the T5's they were 2.5 inch straight flange to late 98 then went to 3 inch angled flange in 99 when they changed the ECUs from m4.4 to me7.

Of course it's not foolproof as some owners might have replaced turbo/downpipe with the better flowing 3inch variety.

For the op you might get a good deal by going to an exhaust specialist who can custom make one.

just go for the volvo one , it will fit , it will work and it will last another 15+ years , otherwise you will be forever changing them not a job you want to do twice !

You own a very special volvo where just about everything is different to the standard model , You should be budgeting for things like this If you start neglecting it and bodging things you are going to ruin the car … and there will be a point when you cant recover the slide down the slippery slope ..

Hi all thanks for the replies. Rang up volvo and the price for a new cat from them is £640. Quite a lot of money I thought .....
