Engine 2.0D - Boost issue / ECM 2263
Hi,
I may need your help, I have intermettently the fault code 2263 with the following symptoms : With little / medium throttle, the boost build up, then suddently hardly cut, then build up. Sometimes, the fault code doesn't appear but have the symptoms. No limp mode. the investigation I have made : - replacement of the Turbo Control Valve with a pierburg one. - I have vacuum at the enter of the TCV - I have vacuum at the exit of the TCV (so to the turbo vane) - I have monitored various trip with vida : I have seen that the TCV position at idle is stick to 99%, and stay at 99% all the time when riding, except when the turbo boost "cut". It's like there is no smooth regulation, it's like just an on/off on the TCV.- I have check the voltage on the TCV plug at idle, which is 14V, which correspond to the 99% open from VIDA. My questions are : - What is the normal value of the TCV position at idle ? - The TCV position should change all the time, right ? - Could be a sticky boost vane ? Thank for your help ! |

Some updates :
I have tried to monitor during some trips, see attached files : - 1st : normal trip, with stutter/boost cut - 2ns : with EGR Unplug - With EGR plug OFF, the car run as smooth as normal --> I odered a new one (DELPHI) , but the problem still here - The position signal of the EGR valve is still at 0.01V. |

have you set the adaption in vida to let the ecm know a new part has been fitted? i have heard from other members that there is more than one tcv fitted to the 2.0d but i have never located them on my car .try a search for the vacuum system diagram.

Hello Simmy,
Yes I have tried the adaptation value for the EGR valve. For the TCV, and other vaccum valve, there are 3 on this motor : - 1 : for the air doser left (turbo outlet with intercooler) - 2 : for the air doser right (turbo outlet without intercooler, aka by-pass for the DPF regen) - 3 : for the turbo control As i have bought 1 control valve, i've put it in place of each one to see if one i faulty. --> No result found. I conclude that no one of the vaccuum valve are faulty. |

Today update,
i have monitored the turbo position sensor with the page attached, by clicking the VCT2000 icon. I have found that the signal is only between 0.1 and 0.9V. and pretty steady to 0.7/0.8V. And drop sometimes when the variablegeometry/wastegate open. So, it's still between 0.5 and 5V (so no error message ? ) But I think it should move between 0.5 and 5V and not stick close to a value ? |

To end the subject and help others,
The fault was the turbo position sensor (sensor fixed on the turbo) which give a constant value... Sensor replaced and car runs as smooth as new. Cheers ! |
