Default Climate control blows hot and cold??

I have noticed that on cold mornings the dashboard vents (particularly on the passenger side) appear to blow out hot then cold air when the climate control is set to say 24 degrees and on automatic... on manual it does not seem to do it.

Is this normal or if not, any ideas??

Thanks

I once had an S80 that blew hot then cold like clockwork and it turned out it needed a software correction by volvo.
