Default First oil change since

I purchased the xc90 on Ebay...
I noticed that there is gas mixed in with the old oil. I mean the smell was strong. How can I fix this problem? Also, I looked up at the turbo hose going in the intercooler and the bottom of the hose is covered with oily gunk, is this normal?
Awesome tool to remove filter housing from IPD

Wait to see if the problem returns in the next oil change. Is there any fuel smell in the engine compartment?
That looks like terribly dirty oil. It must have been in for a long time. What oil did you put in?

The former owner said it was changed last fall. They used 10w-30 Castrol GTX. I replaced it with Mobil 1 high mileage 10w-30. Plan on changing it at 3K to see how the oil looks. No fuel smell in the enginge compartment but I just pulled the dipstick and I still smell fuel in the oil. And this is after driving for two hours coming back from Myrtle Beach.

Is the level on the dipstick rising from where it was right after the change? Strange . . . the PCV system should remove any gasoline which would get into the engine oil. With the engine idling, pull the engine oil dipstick out and lay it on clean paper. Now put your thumb over the dipstick tube. Do you feel a slight suction on your thumb when you pull it off?

I think it would be a waste to change Mobil1 at 3000 miles.

What mpg are you getting?

Already did the tissue paper check and the the tissue stayed on top of the dipstick. So, pcv is not clogged. Got normal MPG. How about the Fuel pressure sensor. Anyway to check and see if it is working? Would it throw a CEL?

That tool is for the oil filter housing type on my 2004 V70 petrol 170 that is smooth on bottom and comes off from below. My wife's 2007 XC90 3.2 L inline 6-cyl has the oil fiter housing that comes off from above and has a socket boss on top (36 mm?). This tool might fit over this socket boss to engage the ~86 mm faces on the edge of the top . . . and might not. What type of oil filter housing is on your D5 185 bhp?
