Information
  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

You will be fine with standard shocks on a 25mm rise, the available suspension travel can handle it. If you think of how many inches you need to raise the car before the wheel hangs free you'll see there is adequate sufficiency.
(A 25mm reduction in rebound length of the shock will grant an extra 25mm of compression length of the rod so its favourable.)

(a minus 30mm drop on some cars require/benefit from a shortened piston rod)

I went with adjustable rate dampers and stiffer springs to get the lift. There should be a thread on here somewhere showing how I did it. My next mod will be bearing top mounts.

Thats all very digestable food for thought...

4ork, you mention in the post havng those Gaz available and also some Bilsteins that were a reasonable upgrade from stock. Any part numbers? Prices? For front and rear as I have a weeper at each end... ;-(

I've been quoted £165 plus the dreaded ;-( for a set of custom made springs 30mm longer than std. How does that sound? Does anyone have any alternatives they know of?

Don't beat yourself up, York-Shire gave the world a wonderful pudding that you have before the sweet course....

Also another greatly recieved York-Shire invention was the 'Mechanical wool comb', for which i offer my personal thanks as i do like my girlfriend to be turned out all nice n pretty...
