Default Can you retrofit UK S90 with paddle shift steering wheel?

Hi there,

I tried to call my local dealer but they didn't know. So I was wondering if anyone on this forum could tell me if a UK S90 R-Design auto can be retrofitted with a paddle shift steering wheel?

The steering wheel is listed here as an accessory:

http://accessories.volvocars.com/en-...7/D4/Automatic

But there is no option to buy, does it have to be specified with a factory order?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

If its an accessory it can be fitted at dealer as long as the conditions listed in notes are met,

ie it hasn't got a heated steering wheel (most R-designs don't)

Ah ok, thanks very much. Its strange because I did actually call a different dealer (Cambridge Volvo) and a salesman there said bluntly "no". But I thought this might just be because they are all geared towards selling new cars, rather than actually helping someone add to their existing purchase.

Paddles were one reason we chose R Design. Just said to wife yesterday we've never used them.

A very high percentage of people whose cars have paddles admit to never using them after the novelty wears off.

Does anyone know where the steering wheel with paddle shifts can be purchased? I’ve found it in the states but not in the Uk or europe.

I'd guess the only place will be a dealer, assuming it's actually available for UK cars. The part number is given on the web page so simplest thing would be to phone parts dept and give them the part number to check availability and price on their system. The dealer will probably also have to fit it as the airbag, etc has to be swapped over and software updated.

I enquired about swapping my blonde steering wheel for a black one and that was ~£400 plus fitting iirc. I suspect the paddle shift wheel will be even more.

Thanks very much Lexman8! I have asked the US seller on ebay if the wheel they are selling would fit a UK model. I will post their reply on here if anyone else is interested.
